Terms of use.
Short, because most of what a page like this usually contains does not apply here. There is nothing to sign up for, nothing to buy from us and nothing to log into.
What this site is
CarGearBench publishes measurements taken by other people. We do not test products ourselves, we say so on the method page, and nothing here should be read as our own laboratory result. Using the site means you accept these terms.
Accuracy, and its limits
We take care to reprint figures correctly and to state the conditions they were taken under, and we link to every source so you can check them. We cannot guarantee that a source measured correctly, that a manufacturer's claim is true, or that a product still performs as it did when it was tested — firmware changes, formulations change, and a model number often outlives the thing it named.
Where we get something wrong we correct it on the page and say what changed. If you have found an error, please tell us: the address is on the about page, and corrections are the part of the post we most want to receive.
Electrical and mechanical work
The electrical pages are not an installation guide. Circuit sizing, breaker ratings and anything involving a consumer unit are governed by your local electrical code and, in most places, must be done by a licensed electrician. The arithmetic we publish tells you what to ask for; it does not tell you what your panel will take, and it is not a substitute for someone qualified looking at it.
The same applies to pressure washers, polishers and chemicals: follow the manufacturer's instructions, which describe the product you actually bought.

Product links are affiliate links and we earn a commission on qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you. The full statement is on the disclosure page. Prices, availability and the products themselves are the retailer's, not ours, and we have no part in any transaction between you and them.
Our content, and other people's
The writing, the charts and the site itself are ours. Quote us, link to us, cite a figure with attribution — all welcome, and a link back is the courtesy we would appreciate. Republishing pages wholesale is not.
The measurements themselves belong to the people who took them. We reprint them with attribution and a link, which is how a citation works; if you are one of those testers and want something removed, write to us and we will.
Liability
The site is provided as it is. We are not liable for loss arising from decisions taken on the strength of it — a purchase that disappointed, work done to a vehicle or a building, or a product that did not perform as a source reported. You are responsible for what you do with the information, which is the same bargain any reference book offers.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
